Consumer Group 8: Active Adult Elite
![]() Motivation: As the wealthiest of the active adult groups, an impressive community with a sense of place that displays ‘they have made it’ is important. These are middle to upper-class adults with an eye on retirement, and are often households who have evolved from Consumer Group 5 (Elite) and seeking their final home purchase.
Age/Income/Kids: This group is typically comprised of households 55 years or greater in age. Individuals tend to be college-educated professionals who have achieved great success with an average income surpassing $100,000. Home Preferences/Features: Home preference is a single-family detached home, often times custom built. Stylish features, new construction and community feel are equally important. These buyers have often owned multiple homes prior to this purchase and are therefore aware of their exact needs and desires. Hobbies/Interests/Lifestyle Traits: These buyers lead a very active and social lifestyle. It is likely that they own a weekend home or timeshare, are part of a country club, or own a motor home for frequent domestic travel. This group has a strong preference for cruise ships and all-inclusive international travel. The interior of their homes includes the latest and greatest large screen TVs and upscale wines. Their hobbies include live theater, cross-country skiing and golfing. Television interests include Sundance movies, 60-Minutes and the US Open.
